Really wanted to post this review as “verified purchase” reviewer but Amazon availability of this combo forced me to go to Newegg.com to order which I received day after I ordered it. Having used the prior version of Devastator, I can honestly say this upgrade is an amazing feat. Even the original Devastator was the best value in gaming keyboard/mouse with great feeling keyboard and mouse. This mem-chanical keyboard that has been introduced is amazing. It feels like Cherry MX Red switch. I swear that if you close your eyes and just type, you would swear that this is a genuine mechanical keyboard. Only downside is that at the angle that I am typing and from this view, LED is a bit dim and hard to make out the letters. It’s a small complaint. I think Cooler Master hit a home run with this release. Thanks CM and keep up the good work!

This is a tough one. As advertised, this keyboard and mouse combo feels sturdy and well made. The keys are quite responsive, and on the mouse the extra keys are not in a spot that causes them to constantly get hit in error (a problem I’ve had with other feature laden mice because I’m not used to them). The four stars comes from the LED system. Instead of a separate switch to operate the LEDs, the SCROLL LOCK key is used. So if you want the LEDs, scroll lock must be on which is irritating in spreadsheets which I work with a lot. On the surface that sounds nitpicky- why do you HAVE to have the LEDs? The keys have transparent symbols, and even though I spend a huge amount of time typing and have pretty well memorized the qwerty keypad and ten key and such- this particular keyboard has a slightly different set of dimensions and keystroke pattern than the one I’ve been using for the last few years so more than once I’ve had to turn the lights back on to figure out what I’m hitting wrong. The LED backlighting also doesn’t light the symbols completely unless you are looking directly overhead, from the angle at which I operate my keyboard only the bottom 1/3 or in the case of the top row left hand side of the keys are lit. I also find for some baffling reason that there are times that the weight of my index finger will sometimes activate fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff… not been an issue previously with any keyboard that I can recall.

I like the keyboard and mouse very much so far, I don’t know that 5 stars would be appropriate though as the small quirks stack against it. For $30 like I paid for it? Fair deal. For more than $30? I’m not sure the deal is as square.

Edit; It’s been about a week, and the mousewheel now makes an absurd horror-movie squeak when used. If you are using the mouse for GAMING then assuming all you’re doing is switching weapons it probably will not come up much (it rarely is an issue with Borderlands 2) however if you have a general-purpose rig, when you are trying to work with large reports in Excel it gets pretty grating. So… I guess it’s a great combo for gaming, because of the scroll lock and the mousewheel being quiet when it’s not being used extensively… but if you have a more general purpose set up in mind you might find yourself getting annoyed as often as not.

Amazing deal for the money, March 30, 2016

    –The Keyboard–
Overall great keyboard with a few design flaws. Keys are very responsive with a nice typing feel but they’re a little loud for my taste. They’re fine during the day but may become a problem for those who work late at night (The original Devastator might be a better option since it has normal membrane keys). The media keys are very useful but they’re much shorter than the rest so the top row of function keys actually get in the way. I’d much rather have the media keys raised a bit more or just have all the keys the same height. My last complaint is the illumination. It’s actually very dim with no way to increase the brightness, so the keys are pretty hard to make out when placed in your typical typing angle (even at night). The keys only appear fully and evenly lit when facing them directly.

    –The Mouse–
Wonderful little mouse, no complaints at all. I use a fingertip grip (I move the mouse with my fingertips only and I do not rest my palm on the mouse at all) and it is very comfortable to hold. It has a nice symmetrical design and the lighting is a very nice touch. I got used to the mouse within minutes of using it. I would honestly pay 30 dollars for the mouse alone. I don’t use the DPI toggle button but it works exactly how you’d expect for those wondering.

    –Conclusion–
The keyboard (mainly the illumination) is somewhat disappointing but it still deserves 5 stars considering how cheap this combo is ($35 dollars with Prime at the time of writing this review). A mechanical-feeling keyboard along with an excellent gaming mouse at this price point is just a deal too good to pass up. Also, being a Cooler Master product I don’t expect either devices to malfunction anytime soon.
